Random thoughts from the Basement.

Extreme Sarcasm Alert…..

Ok, I admit it I’m a Newbie extraordinaire and I know everything there is to know about everything. Now something that I can’t stand is when an upstart little company like Stardock comes along and starts putting out software, acting like they can rewrite how companies do business on the internet. I want them to cease and desist right now!!! I want them to stop making software that is affordable, Quadruple the price and add as many worthless features as possible, you know like Adobe. I want them to stop making software that prevents me from missing an update, the gall to prevent me from having to search for updates. I want them to stop providing the best support on the planet, to have message forums that the programmers actually read and respond to, that could spell ruin to the offshore support industries, think of all the starving techsupport families in India. They are just not financially sound, imagine providing free software programs like Objectdock, Logon Studio, and Bootskin, all of which could sell for 19.95 each, what kind of money grubbing people are they? How dare they write Beta and Alpha software that works and won’t crash my system, don’t they know that they are giving other companies a black eye, imagine the thought if all companies started to follow their example…… I’ll tell ya Anarchy, happy customers everywhere, heck there might even be a CEO that talks to the customers. To GIVE a server to another website when theirs kicked the bucket with no strings attached, you might even think they have a heart. To spend 100,000+ USD a year to keep up Wincustomize, when all you hear is how they are making Millions on advertising (NOT!), that is a couple of real nice Hummers for those winter drives to work. I haven’t even touched how they dare make great games that suck hours and hours from your life, and even a couple for free. Darn there is that dam Free thing again, how can they expect to live lavish Dot Com lifestyles giving things away. There are so many things that this company is doing wrong, I have only listed a few here, what is this world coming to when a company like Stardock can win the day.

Ok Ok Sarcasm OFF.

Seriously THANK YOU to every one at Stardock that makes them the best software company on the planet. THANK YOU to all of the Admins that make Wincustomize what it is, the best Skinning site of all. Wincustomize my favorite addiction. May this year be even better than the last.

Grog goes back down to the basement.

Hmm what's with all these recent applauds stardock and WC have been getting? This is like the fourth of the day!
on Jan 03, 2004
Simple: When Stardock is as great as they are, there are more people willing to say they like the software. Plus, its a defense mechanism against all the morons who have hate rants against us.

Thanks Grog!

Grog wonders what the final subscription drive number was..... including us disobediant re-suscribers?
on Jan 03, 2004
I got mine in january. rather thats when i got the email but it was paid for in december. I know it counts not but the thought counts.

i think the total was 595
on Jan 04, 2004
Heh heh...The only two reasons I got a subscription was that I wanted to support the site and I wanted the premium themes. Proxomitron always took care of the ads for me...

I believe it was well over the 500, something like 587 or thereabouts.

Nice to see some complimentary words for a change, and I agree with everything you said. Stardock have been really good to me behind the scenes, always willing to help, and some of the nicest people I have met work for Stardock.

I know your words will be appreciated by the folks at Stardock. Thanks.

It was 595 indeed. In least in my time zone, I saw it at 595 just before jan 1st.
