Or better yet I vote for Jack Ryan
Published on October 28, 2004 By Grog In Politics
I’m sick and tired of both sides in this political race, neither has thing one to say that is not sound byte-able. If I had the misfortune of Brewster's Millions, I would dearly love trying to spend all 40 million by Tuesday Night. “VOTE None of the ABOVE” on every station in the land, all day and all night long. I would pledge an oath to spent every penny to ensure that neither got elected. Or better yet in my secret Bio Genetics lab I would create a Jack Ryan straight out of Tom Clancy’s imagination. A politician that hated being a politician, a self made man that still had a heart and refused to compromise his morals for power. I wonder if I could get some bored billionaire to fund the project. My disillusionment with both sides is a great source of despair for me. As a member of the United States Military for over 20 Years, I have been neutral as to who the boss was. It didn’t really matter you see, since we had a job to do and sooner or latter for better or worse there would be a new boss and we still had a job to do. The hope with Bush Jr. was that we might see the pay raises from the Regan years again so that our youngest members might not have to use food stamps to feed their families. Nope didn’t happen. We hoped that we might have a little more money to repair aging equipment and possibly some new to make our job a little easier. Didn’t happen. But you know what?, we were used to it…. Clinton taught us how to improvise and get by. Like I said at the top, we had a job to do. Kerry scares me, and disgusts me, as he does most of the military. He claims to be a hero, but a hero would have stayed to be with and lead his men, not left after 4 months. As an Enlisted man, I can tell you that good officers are hard to find, ones that you would gladly follow to the gates of hell. For some strange reason, I think that John Kerry would be leading from an Air-conditioned office wondering how much longer it was till his tee time. I have seen Officers fight kicking and screaming to stay with a unit. I have seen grown men brought to tears over one leaving. I have also seen one heck of a party thrown right after one has left the parking lot. John Kerry to me is one of the later and not the former. Before anyone say’s that President Bush got us into a war that we shouldn’t be in, let me say this. The United States Military has been at war with the country of Iraq for over 10 years, and it even made CNN from time to time. Dear old peace loving Saddam and his cronies seemed to take perverse joy in their job of shooting Surface to Air Missiles and Anti-Aircraft Guns at our planes that were just trying to…. Oh yeah what were we trying to do? Oh yeah that’s right….. Enforce United Nations Mandates…. So before you hit me with that one…. Can it. Well I’m starting to ramble so on November 2nd Vote, I don’t care who you vote for but vote, only those who vote have a right to complain on November 3rd.
